Not mentioned in Flora of Australia treatment (Jolley & Milne 2012). Aloina rigida is easily recognised from Aloina aloides var. ambigua by the differentiated border of elongate, thin-walled, hyaline cells at the base of the leaves (cf. Catcheside 1980).
